The ISL offers intensive courses throughout the academic year, summer courses, and extensive courses.
People wishing to upgrade their proficiency in Arabic
The ISL offers training that enables them either to express themselves with great ease, or integrate appropriate terminology into their scientific language.
Students looking for optional subjects
The ISL offers Arabic language modules worth 3 to 6 credits (1 credit= 10 LMD/ECTS hours, or 1 module= 6 North American credits)
Student Assessment Test
All students are required to take, before the start of courses (a week ahead) an assessment test that will help determine their level and learning needs.
Teachers will reassess their students in the course of the first two lessons, which will permit to make changes if necessary. The final decision on the students' level rests with the teacher.
Important note : Students who have very little or no knowledge of Arabic may be exempted from taking the student assessment test. In that case, they must sign a discharge paper attesting that they have no knowledge of Arabic and will enrol in level 1. However, their class lists will only be finalised when validated by the teacher who can move them from one level to another if he thinks that the students were mistaken in their self-assessment.
